For the last 6 months, OGC COSI has supported the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information in Saudi Arabia (GEOSA) with the developments of policies and standards for the national geospatial infrastructure. The draft results have been delivered last week in Riyadh. The live broadcast on Youtube reached more than 1000 viewers. The goal of this work is a solid foundation layer for Saudi Arabia’s next generation data exchange platform. OGC COSI provided an overview of standards to GEOSA and provided detailed guidance on important policy topics such as:
- Governance principles
- Data classification
- Licensing of data and geospatial products
- Pricing
- Data sharing
- Data and service protection
